PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Working within the Real Estate Development wing of a Bay Area non-profit, I acted as Project Assistant beginning from pre-development through the start of construction for a 26-unit, $14.1-million affordable housing project. As a representative of the affordable housing developer, I actively assisted in the management of pre-development activities, coordinated project information and schedules with the architect and general contractor as well as third-party development consultants, prepared the compilation of loan documents for lenders, and prepared status reports for financial institutions and grant-giving organizations. My research of the development timeline and my early action helped save the developer ~$40,000 in capital, specifically notifying the contractor and owner of impending public utility permit fees that were scheduled to drastically increase the amount required for construction permits.
